Greetings! I’m Reuben Brooker, a seasoned Health and Safety professional with more than a decade of dedicated experience in ensuring the well-being of individuals across diverse sectors. My journey in the Health and Safety sector has been shaped by a passion for fostering environments where people can thrive safely and is driven by my own personal experiences with poorly managed OHSM’s that affected my life greatly. I bring a wealth of knowledge and passion acquired over the course of my career.
Professional Background:
With a robust background spanning 10 years, I’ve had the privilege of working in various challenging environments, each contributing to my expertise in Health and Safety. My early years were marked by engagements in the construction industry, where I honed my skills in risk assessment, hazard mitigation, and regulatory compliance and working alongside project managers, from Auckland Motorway Alliance to Fulton Hogan and Ashcroft Homes. The intricate dance between progress and safety in construction projects fuelled my commitment to establishing comprehensive safety frameworks.
From there, I transitioned into the realm of being a major player managing safety for large-scale events. Coordinating sale of alcohol to large audiences and managing safety measures for events of significant magnitude demanded meticulous planning and adaptability. I thrived on the challenge of ensuring the safety of diverse crowds while orchestrating seamless event experiences.
In the subsequent phase of my career, I dedicated myself to the unique demands of recreational sports facilities. As a Health and Safety manager for indoor snow sports facilities, I became intimately acquainted with the intricacies of safeguarding both guests and staff in dynamic, weather-dependent environments. The blend of technical know-how and people-centric approaches in recreational sports safety has been a particularly rewarding aspect of my career.
